On July 22, Desjardins presented the West Island Cancer Wellness Centre (WICWC) with a cheque to help with the organization’s mission to provide compassionate care and support to cancer patients and their loved ones.
On behalf of Desjardins and our financial cooperative’s commitment to promoting community health and wellness, Yvan Desrochers (left) and Robert Labrosse (right), chairs of the boards of directors of their respective caisses (Caisse des Sources-Lac-Saint-Louis and Caisse populaire Sainte-Geneviève de Pierrefonds), congratulated Debbie Magwood, WICWC President and Executive Director, and Marcel Nault, a member of the organization’s board of directors, on all the great work done by the WICWC’s multidisciplinary team.
The WICWC plays a key role in providing comfort and support through professional guidance, personalized programs, seminars, art, yoga, meditation and more. Ms. Magwood and Mr. Nault thanked Desjardins for its valuable contribution which, along with generous donations received from all the organization’s other partners, enables the WICWC to offer daily programs and services free of charge.
The official cheque presentation ceremony took place in front of the WICWC’s home for just a few more months. Next fall, the centre will be moving to a new, more spacious location in Kirkland.
